Transmitter for 100% duty cycle operation with protection against infinite VSWR (open/short circuit)
The radio equipment is robust against all failures on the antenna side and will not be damaged in the case of incorrect impedance matching.
When the cause of the antenna fault is eliminated, the radio is returned to normal operation without any further action needed.
Graceful reduction of output power under extreme operational conditions (low voltage/high temperature/VSWR)
Operation under extreme environmental conditions such as high temperature, low voltage, etc, does not lead to shutdown of the radio, but to a reduction in output power. This keeps the radio in operation as long as possible.
When the reason for the extreme environmental condition is eliminated, the radio is returned to normal operation without any further action needed.
Support of carrier offset from two to five carriers (ICAO Annex 10 Vol. III)
To extend the coverage of one ground station, up to four additional ground stations can be used on the same channel by means of carrier offset. Thus, a maximum of five frequency offsets can be used. Carrier offset provides the customer with a spectrum-efficient means of increasing radio coverage for a specific ATC service.
